This toolkit contains forms and information that can help you in court no matter what kind of a case you have.

State Disability Assistance (SDA)

The State Disability Assistance Program (SDA) is cash assistance for eligible disabled adults. If you are the caretaker of a disabled person or are age 65 or older you may be eligible for SDA.

State Emergency Relief Program (SER)

State Emergency Relief Program (SER) is available to eligible applicants who need money quickly for an emergency. Some examples are to prevent an eviction, stop a utility shut off, or pay for a burial. There are other types of emergencies that SER may cover.

Food Assistance Program (FAP, or Food Stamps)

The Food Assistance Program (FAP) helps eligible families buy food. It is a monthly allowance of money placed on a Bridge card. A Bridge card is like a debit card, and the government puts money onto the card to pay for groceries. A Bridge card can be used at most grocery stores and markets.

Child Development and Care Program (CDC)

The Child Development and Care Program (CDC) pays a percentage of your childcare expenses. Generally, you must show why you need someone to care of your children.

Medical Assistance (MA)

Medicaid and other Medical Assistance programs are health insurance for low-income individuals and families. Michigan has many health care programs for children, families and adults who meet eligibility requirements.

Family Independence Program (FIP, or Cash Assistance)

The Family Independence Program (FIP) provides cash assistance to families with minor children. FIP families must have at least one primary caretaker living with a minor child.
